The first full length trailer for “The Witcher” season 2 has arrived ahead of the debut on Netflix on December 17…
A war is on the horizon and monsters are roaming free in “The Witcher” season 2 trailer, which just dropped on Friday from Netflix ahead of the series return on December 17.
It’s been almost two years since the first season debuted and the long wait for the second season is largely thanks to the global pandemic but now Henry Cavill is back and he’s got a whole new fight on his hands this time around.
Here’s the official synopsis for “The Witcher” season 2 from Netflix:
“Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.”
Of course, “The Witcher” season 1 ended with Geralt finally reconnecting with Princess Cirilla, who he swore to protect and that’s going to become an even more difficult endeavor in season 2. Geralt will be taking Cirilla to Kaer Morhen, which is the place where all witchers are trained so it will be interesting to see how he’s greeted when returning home again.
Plus, Geralt will be training Ciri in the ways of the witcher, which will be a major story during season 2
As we know, Yennefer is also still very much alive but how long it will take for her to reunite with Geralt remains a mystery. She was last seen being captured by Nilfgaardian forces but she’s spotted in several different places during the trailer — including a moment where she’s riding side-by-side to Ciri, which would mean those two should meet for the first time during season 2.
There’s a lot to unpack so check out the trailer for “The Witcher” season 2 and get ready for all of the episodes to drop on Netflix on December 17. Also remember, “The Witcher” has already been renewed for season 3 so that will be on the way in the near future as well!
