The first teaser trailer for “Thor: Love and Thunder” has arrived with a look at Jane Foster as Thor plus plot details about the new sequel…
With Thanos defeated and the world saved, Thor appears to be looking for a purpose in the first teaser trailer for “Thor: Love and Thunder,” which arrives in theaters on July 8.
From the look of things, Thor seems a little lost but that quickly changes when he gets called back to duty when a new big bad shows up, which forces him to once again become the hero he was always meant to be. Here’s plot details about “Thor: Love and Thunder,” which reunites star Chris Hemsworth with writer and director Taika Waititi.
“The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods.
“To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.”
There’s a lot to see in this first teaser including Thor’s adventures with the Guardians of the Galaxy and his continued hilarious interactions with Peter Quill not to mention his growing friendship with Korg and even a quick look at King Valkyrie after she took over as the leader of New Asgard.
The end of the trailer also coincides with the first look at Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) as the new Thor as she calls on Mjolnir and when the hammer arrives, it proves that she’s quite worthy.
