M. Night Shyamalan takes a stab at a new kind of serial killer movie with his latest film titled “Trap” led by Josh Hartnett and performances by the director’s daughter…
Director M. Night Shyamalan is keeping it all in the family with his next film — a horror-thriller titled “Trap” that stars Josh Hartnett as a serial killer with performances by his daughter Saleka Shyamalan, who portrays a Taylor Swift like icon performing in front of a sold out crowd.
The first trailer dropped on Thursday with the film due out in August.
In the trailer, Hartnett plays a doting father who takes his daughter to a concert of a lifetime so she can see her favorite performer Lady Raven in person for the first time. It’s only after he steps away to go to the restroom that he notices the arena is being surveilled by police with a whole lot of cops surrounding the building.
After speaking to an employee, he learns that the cops used the concert to set a trap for a notorious serial killer known as “The Butcher” after discovering that he would be in attendance. Lo and behold we soon discover that Hartnett’s character is the serial killer and he’s got to find a way to escape this building without getting caught or presumably before his daughter learns that her dad is a serial killer.
