Get a first look at “Yellowjackets” season 2 with the first full trailer for the series as survivors fight back against a darkness haunting them…
Set the moody sound of a cover of No Doubt’s “Just a Girl” by Florence and the Machine, the first look at “Yellowjackets” season 2 promises an even more harrowing journey ahead of the survivors of that plane crash in 1996.
The series, which takes place across two timelines, will following the girl’s soccer team back in 1996 as they attempt to survive a plane crash but now they’re expected to make it through a harsh winter where food is scarce and heat is running out. It’s been teased since the beginning of this series that the survivors likely turned to cannibalism to make it through the ordeal but the trailer teases something far more sinister happening, especially as Lottie continues to descend into madness after she ran out of her medication.
Meanwhile 25 years later, the survivors of that same plane crash are still attempting to put their lives back together again but the past continues to come back to haunt them. “Yellowjackets” season 1 ended with Natalie (Juliette Lewis) preparing to commit suicide only to be interrupted by a group of strangers kidnapping her. Meanwhile, Shauna (Melanie Lynskey) is still attempting to cover up a murder alongside two of her former soccer teammates who are both harboring dark secrets of their own.
Here’s the official synopsis for “Yellowjackets” season 2:
“The Yellowjackets barely made it through summer, but now as winter begins to bite, we’ll see if hunger and desperation turn into full-on psychosis. Meanwhile, 25 years later, each survivor must determine if the darkness is coming for them or from them.”
Take a look at the new trailer and get ready for “Yellowjackets” season 2 to debut on Showtime on demand and Paramount+ on March 24 with the television debut on March 26.
