The 2021 Emmy Award nominations have been released with “WandaVision” “The Boys” “Lovecraft Country” and “The Mandalorian” all receiving consideration…
The 2021 Emmy Award nominations were announced on Tuesday with a number of surprising entrants from across pop culture including the Marvel series “WandaVision” receiving a whopping 23 nominations across multiple categories.
“WandaVision” was nominated for Outstanding Limited Series in a very difficult category to be recognized with other powerhouse series such as “Mare of Easttown” and “The Queen’s Gambit” vying for the same award.
Both Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany were nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie respectively with Kathryn Hahn also receiving a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her role as the nosy neighbor turned big bad Agatha Harkness.
The catchy theme song “Agatha All Along” even received a nomination for Outstanding Original Song.
Meanwhile, Amazon’s breakout hit series “The Boys” also received a nomination for Outstanding Drama Series while picking up a total of six nominations across all categories. The series based upon the comic book of the same name from writer Garth Ennis and artist Darick Robertson was also nominated for Outstanding Writing in a Drama Series while also being recognized in several technical categories as well including Outstanding Visual Effects.
It’s safe to say the cast and crew behind “The Boys” were excited about the nomination.

HBO’s recently cancelled series “Lovecraft Country” also celebrated a number of high profile nominations including a nod for Outstanding Drama Series as well as Jonathan Majors being nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series with Jurnee Smollett also receiving a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.
Another Disney+ hit was also recognized at the 2021 Emmy nominations with “The Mandalorian” once again being recognized for Outstanding Drama Series after being nominated in the same category during its freshman season as well.
Over on the comedy side, “The Karate Kid” spinoff “Cobra Kai” also enjoyed some well deserved recognition after being nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series.
