The highly anticipated ‘remix’ of ‘Watchmen’ finally has a debut date on HBO.
The Damon Lindelof created series will land on HBO on Sunday night, October 20 at 9 p.m. ET.
A lot of questions remain about the timeline and story surrounding ‘Watchmen’ after Lindelof (co-creator of ‘Lost’ and ‘The Leftovers’) confirmed that his series wasn’t a remake of the comic book series but instead sounds like a continuation of the original story from legendary writer Alan Moore. Lindelof had previously called his adaptation a ‘remix’ but then later clarified that everything that happened in the original ‘Watchmen’ comics is considered canon for his show.
Here’s the brief synopsis from HBO:
“Set in an alternate history where masked vigilantes are treated as outlaws, WATCHMEN, from executive producer Damon Lindelof (Emmy® winner for “Lost”; HBO’s “The Leftovers”) embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel of the same name, while attempting to break new ground of its own. Nicole Kassell directs the pilot from a script written by Lindelof.”
The show stars Regina King, Jerermy Irons, Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Jean Smart and several more.
