‘Wonder Woman’ has been without a doubt the biggest breakout hit thus far in 2017 so it didn’t take long for Warner Bros. to order up a sequel starring Gal Gadot alongside director Patty Jenkins.
Now that sequel has a release date.
‘Wonder Woman 2’ will land in theaters on Dec. 13, 2019 according to a release from Warner Bros. on Tuesday.
While no official announcement has been made, current reports state that ‘Wonder Woman 2’ will move Diana to the 1980’s for another period piece where she will take on the Cold War this time around after the first film was set around World War I.
‘Wonder Woman’ has been a juggernaut for Warner Bros. this summer raking in more than $389 million at the box office in the United States, which made the sequel a foregone conclusion for the studio.
