The first trailer for ‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’ has finally landed ahead of the film’s debut on February 14, 2019…
The first trailer for ‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’ arrived on Wednesday night ahead of the movie’s release on Feb. 14, 2019 in what could be the final film for the current cast of X-Men.
With Disney buying the majority of FOX — including all of the characters from the X-Men universe — it’s likely that an entirely new franchise will be built under the watchful eye of Marvel guru Kevin Feige.
Until that time, ‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’ is still moving forward with the focus on the famous storyline from the comic books that puts Jean Grey (Sophia Turner) in the lead role.
Here’s the plot summary for the film from FOX:
“During a rescue mission in space, Jean is nearly killed when she is hit by a mysterious cosmic force. Once she returns home, this force not only makes her infinitely more powerful, but far more unstable. Wrestling with this entity inside her, Jean unleashes her powers in ways she can neither comprehend nor contain. With Jean spiraling out of control, and hurting the ones she loves most, she begins to unravel the very fabric that holds the X-Men together. Now, with this family falling apart, they must find a way to unite — not only to save Jean’s soul, but to save our very planet from aliens who wish to weaponize this force and rule the galaxy.”
There had been concerns that perhaps Disney was going to scrap this upcoming movie all together now that they would be in control of the X-Men universe but obviously they will still release this film next year.
