Taylor Sheridan might just be the busiest man in television after announcing four more shows headed to Paramount+ including another “Yellowstone” prequel…
The Taylor Sheridan universe at Paramount+ will continue to expand.
As part of a number of announcements made on Tuesday, Sheridan introduced four new series headed to the streaming service including another “Yellowstone” prequel that will continue to tell the story of the Dutton family empire.
While the original “Yellowstone” prequel titled “1883” is still going with more episodes already ordered — it wasn’t clear if it was a second season order or just additional episodes added to the first season — Sheridan already has the next series set several years later.

“1932” will follow a past generation of the Dutton family during the time of Western expansion, Prohibition and the Great Depression. This series will also undoubtedly introduce an older version of John Dutton’s father, who was briefly played by Dabney Coleman in “Yellowstone.” A young version of that same character is currently appearing as a child on the other “Yellowstone” prequel “1883.”
In addition to the ever expanding world of “Yellowstone,” Sheridan is also looking to bring some serious star power to two more of his series set up at Paramount+
“Tulsa King” was a series already in development that will star Sylvester Stallone in his first ever major role on on television. He will play New York mafia capo Dwight “The General” Manfredi, who, as he’s released from prison after 25 years, is unceremoniously exiled by his boss to set up shop in Tulsa, Okla. Realizing that his mob family may not have his best interests in mind, Dwight slowly builds a “crew” from a group of unlikely characters to help him establish a new criminal empire in a place that to him might as well be another planet.
“Land Man” will star Billy Bob Thornton as a crisis manager for an oil company in Texas set against a story about roughnecks and wildcat billionaires who are fueling a boom so big it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.
“Lioness” will feature “Guardians of the Galaxy” star Zoe Saldana in the lead role with Nicole Kidman serving as an executive producer about a real life CIA program that follows a marine recruited to befriend the daughter of a terrorist to bring the organization down from within. Saldaña plays Joe, a strong-willed, hard-nosed, station chief of the CIA’s Lioness Program, tasked with training, managing and leading her female undercover operatives working to assassinate the world’s most dangerous terrorists.
Finally, Sheridan is developing a limited-series called “Bass Reeves” that will star multi-time award nominated actor David Oyelowo as the legendary lawman, who was the first Black U.S. Marshal west of the Mississippi River. Reeves famously worked around Arkansas and the Oklahoma territory while capturing more than 3,000 dangerous criminals during his career as well as killing 14 more in self-defense without ever being wounded.
The HBO series “Watchmen” featured Bass Reeves as a major influence for the first ever masked superhero in the United States and many believes the iconic U.S. Marshal also served as the basis for “The Lone Ranger.”
All of these series come in addition to Sheridan’s work on the flagship show “Yellowstone,” which has become the most watched television show on cable as well as his gritty crime drama “Mayor of Kingstown,” which was previously renewed for season 2 on Paramount+.
