The Walking Dead season 6 has added another crucial character from the comics with veteran actor Xander Berkeley landing the part…
Xander Berkeley — best known for roles in 24, Nikita, Salem and dozens of other films and shows — has been cast in The Walking Dead season 6 as Gregory, an iconic character from the Robert Kirkman created comic book series.
For those unaware of Gregory’s role in The Walking Dead, read on, but realize potential spoilers lie ahead (assuming the show follows the comic books) —
Gregory is the self-absorbed and cowardly leader of the Hilltop community, another town nearby Alexandria, who eventually meets Rick Grimes and the other survivors and offers to give them supplies in exchange for their help dealing with a particularly nasty group called The Saviors and their leader Negan.
Gregory’s underhanded trick ends up getting someone close to Rick killed and his treachery only continues as Rick and his survivors battle against Negan and the Saviors. Gregory even tries to kill Maggie at one point by poisoning her. In other words, he’s a real piece of shit.
Berkeley will debut as Gregory during The Walking Dead season 6 with all signs pointing towards his return in season 7 as well.
The Walking Dead returns to AMC on Sunday night February 14 for the second half of season six kicking off.
