There was a post credit scene in Deadpool that gave a really good hint about the sequel for the movie that’s already in the works…

For those of you who haven’t seen Deadpool either stop right now or understand that there are spoilers ahead although really it doesn’t ruin the plot of the film in all actuality.
What we’re going to discuss is the post credits scene that popped up at the very end of the film — and for those of you that didn’t stick around, shame on you!
One last warning — SPOILER ALERT!!!
So following the end of Deadpool, the final post credits scene is really just a re-imagining if you will of the classic post credit scene from the 1986 classic Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.
But in addition to that, Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) drops one huge nugget about the sequel that every X-Force fan is going to love…
Cable will be in the Deadpool sequel!
For those unfamiliar with Cable from the comic book world here’s a brief biography:
Cable was born Nathan Summers — and he’s the son of Scott Summers aka Cyclops and Madelyne Pryor, who were planted together by the villain Mr. Sinister in a plot to create an ultra powerful mutant that he hoped to use to destroy his nemesis Apocalypse. Unfortunately the plan backfired when Apocalypse learned about Mr. Sinister’s plan and ended up infecting the child with an techno-organic virus that would eat away at him until he died.
With no options to save their son, Scott and Madelyne sent Nathan 2000 years into the future where his disease could hopefully be cured.
Years later, Summers followed his cloned brother Stryfe to the current time line in the 20th century where he adopted the name Cable — a play on words of the fact that he was a link between the current time and the future. Cable did grow up to be a very powerful mutant as predicted with a slew of powers at his disposal including telepathy and telekinesis among others.
Cable had multiple interactions with Deadpool over the years including his stint as the leader of X-Force before ultimately teaming up with the “Merc with a Mouth”.
The two characters have been intertwined together for years so it makes perfect sense that a Deadpool sequel would introduce Cable to the X-Men universe.
There’s no word on when a Deadpool sequel might arrive but all signs are pointing towards the writers beginning a script in the very near future. Considering that Deadpool is set to break a lot of opening weekend records for an ‘R’ rated movie, chances are the sequel will be moving along rather quickly.
