During the latest episode of Game of Thrones, were you wondering what Melisandre was chanting to bring Jon Snow back to life? Wonder no more!
MASSIVE SPOILERS FOR GAME OF THRONES BELOW:
Following several months of speculation, Jon Snow was finally brought back on the latest episode of Game of Thrones after the red priestess Melisandre was able bring the fallen Lord Commander back from the dead.
Melisandre stood over Jon Snow’s body after cleaning off all the blood from his stab wounds and cutting off some of the locks of his hair and sacrificing them into the fire before chanting a prayer to help bring him back to the land of the living.
But what exactly was Melisandre saying over Jon?
Well thanks to some users on Reddit, Melisandre’s prayer has been translated from Valyrian to English so we can know exactly what she was saying while trying to bring Jon Snow back to life.
Zyhys oñoso jehikagon Aeksiot epi, se gis hen syndrorro jemagon.
“We ask the Lord to shine his light, and lead a soul out of darkness.”
Zyhys perzys stepagon Aeksio Oño jorepi, se morghultas lys qelitsos sikagon.
“We beg the Lord to share his fire, and light a candle that has gone out.”
Hen syndrorro, oños. Hen ñuqir, perzys. Hen morghot, glaeson.
“From darkness, light. From ashes, fire. From death, life.”
At the end, Melisandre even said ‘please’ before she finally believed her enchanted prayer wasn’t working.
Little did she know a few seconds later, Jon Snow gasped for air and opened his eyes wide as he was brought back to life.
Game of Thrones returns this Sunday — with a living Jon Snow — at 9pm ET on HBO.
