The highly anticipated television adaptation of ‘Y the Last Man’ on FX has found a show runner…
FX will finally bring ‘Y the Last Man’ to life on television and now the series has a show runner as well.
Michael Green — currently acting as show runner for the Starz series ‘American Gods’ as well as past work on ‘Heroes’ and ‘Smallville’ — has been tapped as the show runner for ‘Y the Last Man’.
The critically acclaimed comic book from Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra follows Yorick Brown and his Capuchin monkey Ampersand as they remain as the only remaining males on Earth after some kind of mysterious event wipes out everything with a Y chromosome. Yorick goes on a mission to find his girlfriend after the world falls apart due to the apocalyptic event while also searching to find out what caused this catastrophe.
‘Y the Last Man’ ran for 60 issues at Image Comics and had been rumored for several adaptations on TV and film previously, but the project just never came to fruition until now.
Now FX has plans to bring ‘Y the Last Man’ to television after the rights to the project just recently returned to Vaughan and he brought it to the cable network known for cutting edge series just like this one.
