Austin Nichols from ‘The Walking Dead’ has just landed a famous role for the final season of ‘Bates Motel’…
Austin Nichols — best known for his role as Spencer Monroe on ‘The Walking Dead’ – has landed a recurring role on the final season of ‘Bates Motel’.
Nichols will play Sam Loomis, a mysterious newcomer to White Pine Bay, who quickly antagonizes Norman Bates after he attempts to involve him in his web of lies.
In the original ‘Psycho’ film, Sam Loomis was the hardware store owner involved in an affair with Marion Crane, who eventually traveled to the Bates Motel on a search for her after she goes missing. In the end, Sam is the man responsible for bringing Norman down after it’s discovered that he killed Marion and covered up the murder by throwing her body and her car in a lake nearby.
How closely this version of Sam Loomis will play to the original is unknown but we do know pop singer Rihanna is playing Marion Crane in the final season of ‘Bates Motel’.
The final season of ‘Bates Motel’ picks up two years after Norma’s death with Norman running the motel and living a public life as member of the White Pine Bay community. Secretly, Norman’s mask of sanity is slipping as his blackouts continue to worsen and “Mother” begins to take over more and more. Meanwhile, Dylan and his girlfriend Emma are living a happy life away from White Pine Bay but they are drawn back in due to Norman’s evolving insanity. Romero is also looming in the shadows looking for any opportunity to seek vengeance on Norman after he killed his mother at the end of last season.
‘Bates Motel’ returns for the final season on February 20 on A&E.
