The plot details for ‘American Horror Story’ season 7 are being kept secret but two familiar faces have joined the cast…
‘American Horror Story’ took a risk by keeping the plot details about last season a secret until the show debuted but it ultimately paid off as ‘American Horror Story: Roanoke’ was a smash hit for FX.
It appears FX might keep that same formula for ‘American Horror Story’ season 7 after a few minor details were revealed on Thursday.
According to FX CEO John Landgraf, ‘American Horror Story’ season 7 will be “shrouded in super secrecy” while also adding that creator Ryan Murphy “has yet another really innovative idea for how to do something fresh and different with the franchise that audiences haven’t seen before, and there’s a marketing promotional hook around that.”
Murphy did reveal that ‘American Horror Story’ season 7 would be set in modern day but it sounds like he might be willing to release a few details about the show before it debuts later this year.
“There are only three people in the world who know what (the new season is about) and that’s FX CEO John Landgraf, (FOX executive) Dana Walden, and Sarah Paulson,” Murphy said. “I don’t know )if we’ll keep it a secret). Last year was successful. I don’t know if we’ll do it again.
“I think maybe we’ll release some of it earlier than we did. But I just started writing it, I haven’t even cast it yet — except for Sarah and Evan. It’s a modern-day story. That’s all I can say.”
Sarah and Evan are of course Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters, who will both be appearing on ‘American Horror Story’ season 7. Paulson and Peters have appeared in every version of ‘American Horror Story’ since the beginning of the show.
‘American Horror Story’ season 7 will debut on FX later this year and the show was also renewed for seasons 8 and 9 on Thursday as well.
