‘Better Call Saul’ has jumped around timelines before and now the series will hop right into some scenes that take place during ‘Breaking Bad’…
‘Better Call Saul’ has always been a ‘Breaking Bad’ prequel with the series showing the evolution of lawyer Jimmy McGill into his eventual transformation as Saul Goodman, attorney and criminal partner to Walter White and Jesse Pinkman.
While ‘Better Call Saul’ has time jumped around in the past — most notably with a few scenes set in the aftermath of ‘Breaking Bad’ when Saul fled New Mexico to avoid criminal prosecution and he now lives as Gene, the manager of the local Cinnabon.
Now it appears at least a few scenes from ‘Better Call Saul’ season 4 will take place during ‘Breaking Bad’ but whether that means an appearance from Bryan Cranston or Aaron Paul remains to be seen. ‘Better Call Saul’ starts in 2002 and the events of ‘Breaking Bad’ take place from 2008 to 2010 so obviously there will be some time jumping this season.
“We have a subplot that very squarely gets into ‘Breaking Bad’ territory and brings us into the world — or at least points us on a path toward the world of Walter White and the territory of Walter White,” ‘Better Call Saul’ co-creator Vince Gilligan said. “I can’t wait for folks to see that.”
‘Better Call Saul’ has long teased the possibility that Walter White or Jesse Pinkman would show up at some point during the show’s run but it still hasn’t happened.
It’s not clear if this crossover into ‘Breaking Bad’ means that either of the actors are scheduled to appear but anything seems possible.
