The movie calendar continues to change with the upcoming “Spider-Man” sequels along with the new “Doctor Strange” sequels all receiving new release dates…

The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has already forced numerous films to push back release dates including almost every blockbuster film expected to land in theaters over the next year and a half.

Now you can add two “Spider-Man” films as well as the upcoming “Doctor Strange” sequel from Marvel.

On Friday, Sony announced that the “Spider-Man” sequel starring Tom Holland that will be the third film in that series following “Spider-Man: Homecoming” and “Spider-Man: Far From Home” would be pushed back from July 16, 2021 to a new release date on November 5, 2021.

Meanwhile the animated sequel to “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” has also been pushed back after the film was originally expected in theaters on April 8, 2022 and now the movie will get pushed back six months with the new release date on October 7, 2022.

In addition to the two “Spider-Man” movies being pushed back, Marvel Studios has continued to shift its scheduled after already moving several high profile films including the new “Black Widow” movie as well as “The Eternals.”

The newest film to move will be “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” which moves from November 5, 2021 to March 25, 2022. “Thor: Love and Thunder” also received a new date but that sequel from writer/director Taika Waititi actually bumps up one week from February 18 to February 11, 2022.

Almost every major film that was slated for release this summer has been pushed back and with studios and productions shut down for the foreseeable future, the release dates for future movies are also being affected by the global pandemic.

There’s no telling when production will begin again on many of these movies so until then expect this ever changing series of release dates to update again depending on how long films remain sidelined due to the pandemic.
