There’s a new witch in town when “Riverdale” season 6 debuts with a special five-episode run that will kick off on Tuesday night, November 16 on the CW.
In the first trailer released for the new season, Kiernan Shipka makes her debut appearance as she reprises her role as Sabrina Spellman while crossing over to “Riverdale” for the first time.
Of course, Shipka played Sabrina for two seasons on “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” on Netflix but just when plans were in motion for a major crossover between the shows, Netflix pulled the plug on the witchy teen drama.
Despite “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” coming to an end, Shipka signed onto reprise her role for the upcoming season of “Riverdale” after she summoned to help Cheryl Blossom with a particularly difficult spell after she taps into her family’s history with witchcraft.
Right now, Shipka is only scheduled to appear as Sabrina in a single episode of “Riverdale” season 6 but given the reaction to the news that she would be showing up on the popular CW series, it’s hard to imagine that she won’t return at some point.
