Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren will lead the cast for the new “Yellowstone” spinoff that is tentatively titled “1932”….
The next installment in the “Yellowstone” universe has just landed two major stars to lead the cast.
Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren have been announced as the co-leads for the upcoming prequel series tentatively titled “1932” from Taylor Sheridan with the show set to air on Paramount+.
Here’s a plot synopsis for the “Yellowstone” prequel:
“The next “Yellowstone” origin story will introduce a new generation of the Dutton family and explore the early twentieth century when pandemics, historic drought, the end of Prohibition, and the Great Depression all plague the mountain west, and the Duttons who call it home.”
The series follows “1883,” which starred Tim McGraw and Faith Hill in the lead roles as James and Margaret Dutton, who were driving their family cross country to start a new life in the west. The family ended up in Montana following the tragic death of their daughter, which is where the Duttons started to build their empire while amassing land that would eventually become the largest ranch in the United States.
There’s no word yet on which characters Ford and Mirren will be playing in the series.
Ford is currently wrapping up post-production on the latest “Indiana Jones” film, which will be his fifth in the iconic role as the archeologist and adventurer. As for Mirren, who is a former Oscar winner, she’s starred in dozens of high profile projects including recent appearances in the “Fast and the Furious” franchise.
Mirren has also been nominated for three other Academy Awards during her legendary career in addition to her win for Best Actress in 2007’s “The Queen.”
“1932” is currently slated to debut on Paramount+ in December.
