Veteran actor JK Simmons is in talks to join the cast of the upcoming Terminator reboot project starring ‘Game of Thrones’ actress Emilia Clarke…
JK Simmons is in final negotiations to join ‘Terminator: Genesis’ — an updated reboot of the Terminator franchise starring Emilia Clarke as lead character Sarah Connor as well as Jai Courtney taking over the role of Kyle Reese and Jason Clarke playing future savior John Connor. The cast also includes the original Terminator, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The film is expected to weave together many of the different storylines told throughout the history of the Terminator franchise including four movies and cult TV show classic ‘Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles’.
Simmons role if he lands the part will be playing a cop who is a “weary and alcoholic detective who has followed a bizarre case involving Sarah Connor and robots for more than three decades’. The date for the detective’s obsession goes all the way back to 1984, which is of course when the first Terminator movie starring Linda Hamilton took place.
Terminator: Genesis will be directed by Alan Taylor, who many know from his work on Game of Thrones as well as ‘Thor: The Dark World’. The film will begin production in the fall with a 2015 release date.
