Cabin in the Woods director Drew Goddard is going to be a busy, superhero writing fiend this year because he just signed on to lead the charge on the new ‘Sinister Six’ film from Sony…
The Spider-Man universe of films is expanding from Sony with the next movie focusing on ‘The Sinister Six’ — a collection of Spidey’s most notorious villains all teaming up together to take him down. The new movie, which will pick up steam after ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ opens in May, now has a writer and director.
Drew Goddard — best known for his work on the Joss Whedon produced ‘Cabin in the Woods’ — will write the script for ‘The Sinister Six’ and now it’s also been confirmed that he will direct as well. Goddard is already attached to write and become the show runner for Marvel’s new series ‘Daredevil’ set to begin production for Netflix this summer. It’s likely after Goddard finishes up with Daredevil, he can move directly into ‘The Sinister Six’ film for Sony.
There’s no word yet on which Spider-Man villains will appear in the new movie, but given the team’s long history, there are plenty of choices.
