‘The Walking Dead’ has added a new series regular to the cast for the upcoming fifth season with Seth Gilliam, best known for his role in ‘The Wire’ joining the zombie drama on AMC…
Seth Gilliam — best known for his part on the HBO series ‘The Wire’ as well as his current recurring role on Teen Wolf — has been cast as a series regular for ‘The Walking Dead’ season five.
The veteran actor’s new role is not being discussed outside of the character described as “friendly with a puckish demeanor who also has a haunted side”. Due to the secrecy of the part, speculation is that Gilliam will play Gabriel Stokes, a minister the survivors first encounter around the same time they are battling a group known as ‘The Hunters’ during a cannibalism storyline from the comics.
The end of season four seemed to notate that the people living in Terminus were essentially stands-ins for The Hunters, and if the cannibalism storyline is what kicks off the next year ahead, then Gabriel’s arrival would make sense.
Whatever role he’s taking, Gilliam will join the cast and crew this summer for shooting in Atlanta ahead of ‘The Walking Dead’ season five premiere in October on AMC.
