Following an unceremonious breakup between Marvel and Edgar Wright, a new directed has been found to take over ‘Ant-Man’ ahead of the 2015 release date..
If you don’t know the name Peyton Reed don’t be shocked.
He’s primarily been a TV director for most of his career outside of a few comedy projects such as 2006’s ‘The Break Up’ as well as 2008’s ‘Yes Man’ but now he will take over the damaged franchise for ‘Ant-Man’, which lost its original director, Edgar Wright, a few weeks ago.
It’s not going to be an easy spot for Reed to pick up where Wright left off considering the British director had been working on the ‘Ant-Man’ project for over five years bringing it from book to screen.
Reed will be joined by Adam McCay (Anchorman, Anchorman 2) who will re-work the script, which was likely one of the sticking points when Wright was dismissed last month.
The cast and crew for the movie remains the same with Paul Rudd starring as Scott Lang while Michael Douglas will portray the original Ant-Man, Hank Pym. The plot for the movie below:
‘Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.”
The movie is still scheduled for a July 17, 2015 release date.
