‘Sons of Anarchy’ creator Kurt Sutter has already been scouting locations for his next series ‘The Bastard Executioner’ and hopes to debut the series in 2015…
While Kurt Sutter is spending virtually every waking moment right now preparing for the final season of ‘Sons of Anarchy’, he’s taking what little free time he has to work on his next project titled ‘The Bastard Executioner’.
The story follows a medieval executioner with the show taking place in the 14th century in England. Sutter has made a couple of trips across the ocean already to scout locations for where the show could shoot, and stated in a previous interview that the cast would likely be made up of primarily British actors and actresses although he didn’t rule out working with someone from ‘Sons of Anarchy’ again if the chemistry for the part was right.
FX has already stepped up on board to order the pilot for the series, and Sutter tweeted on Friday that if everything goes well, he hopes to debut the new series on the network in the fall of 2015.

While this series will be a far cry from his current work on ‘Sons of Anarchy’ or even his previous writing on ‘The Shield’, it’s hard to imagine Sutter’s next piece of work won’t get picked up and go to series with FX. The writer/creator/director has had long standing ties with the network, and they would be crazy not to keep him locked up in deals until he’s tired of writing one day in the future.
Until then keep an eye out for the season debut of ‘Sons of Anarchy’ in September and hopefully ‘The Bastard Executioner’ in fall 2015.
