The final season of ‘Sons of Anarchy’ has a debut date and a special episode for the first episode of the year….
FX announced on Thursday that the final season of ‘Sons of Anarchy’ will debut on September 9 at 10pm ET with a special one hour and 45 minute episode for the first episode.
The seventh and final season of ‘Sons of Anarchy’ will kick off September 9, but don’t expect just the debut to be an extended episode. Creator Kurt Sutter and executives at FX have routinely allowed the series to have several extended episodes throughout the season. Just last year, season 6 had almost every episode well over the one-hour time limit normally set for most shows.
The new season will kick off the final run for FX’s most popular show in history – ‘Sons of Anarchy’ routinely pulls in the highest ratings for the network with nearly six million viewers watching the debut last season.
‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 7 will pick up 10 days after the events of the season finale from season 6 when Tara Knowles-Teller met her demise and Jax will open up in jail after a parole violation. The season debut will be followed by a special ‘Anarchy Afterward’ hosted by comedian Chris Franjola.
With the final year expected to be bigger than ever, there’s no telling how high the numbers will get for ‘Sons of Anarchy’ when the season kicks off in September.
