‘American Horror Story’ landed at San Diego Comic Con for the first time this year with plenty of information about the upcoming season ahead…
With the next installment of ‘American Horror Story’ being titled ‘Freak Show’ and set in a 1950’s carnival, chances are this was already going to be a pretty creepy and spooky season. To make sure the latest version of the show raises the bar even higher, veteran actor John Carroll Lynch has been added to the cast to play a major villain in the upcoming season.
Lynch has been seen in several high profile films including ‘Fargo’ and ‘Crazy Stupid Love’ but to watch how he can pull off a picture perfect bad guy, check out his role in the HBO series ‘Carnivale’ (ironically enough he’s returning to another one with ‘Freak Show’).
When asked about the kind of character Lynch will play, executive producer Tim Minear compared him to other iconic characters from the series such as Rubber Man from season one or Bloody Face in season two and he will ‘scare the shit out of you’.
The cast and crew who appeared at the annual convention also revealed their character names for this upcoming season.
Sarah Paulson plays Siamese twins Bette and Dot Tattler
Emma Roberts is Maggie
Kathy Bates is Effil Darling
Angela Bassett is Desiere Duprée,
Evan Peters is Jimmy Darling star
Jessica Lange is Elsa Mars
Michael Chiklis is Wendell Del Toredo.
‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ will debut on FX this October with a debut date still to be announced.
