Following a successful opening weekend, Paramount has ordered a second helping of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for theater goers…
While the reviews for Michael Bay’s ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ haven’t been exactly favorable, the return at the box office ($65 million opening) has convinced Paramount that there will be a sequel.
The studio announced on Sunday that they have ordered Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 to begin production immediately with the same writing team — Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec — on board to pen the script and Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes back to handle producing duties.
Paramount also set a release date for the film — June 3, 2016.
There’s no word yet if director Jonathan Liebesman will be back to helm the second film or not.
