It’s a sad day as famed actor and comedian Robin Williams has died after apparently taking his own life….
Academy Award winning actor Robin Williams, 63, was found dead today in his home in Tiburon, California after authorities believe he took his own life.
According to police reports from the Marin County Sheriff’s Department, Williams was found dead in his home today and police “suspects the death to be a suicide due to asphyxia, but a comprehensive investigation must be completed before a final determination is made.”
A forensic investigation is scheduled for August 12 along with toxicology tests as well.
For the last few decades, few actors have made us laugh, cry and feel every other emotion the way that Williams did from his time on ‘Mork and Mindy’ to a huge list of comedies including ‘Mrs. Doubtfire’ and ‘The Birdcage’ while also honing his dramatic chops in films such as ‘Dead Poet’s Society’ as well as ‘Good Will Hunting’, where he won the 1998 Academy Award for best supporting actor.
Williams also struggled with addiction throughout his life, struggling with both cocaine and alcohol, but he had been clean for several years. The actor also suffered from heart problems that forced him into surgery in 2009 to replace the aortic valve although he made a full recovery.
Most recently, Williams returned to television for a single season of the comedy series ‘The Crazy Ones’ where he starred alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar, but CBS cancelled the show after one year.
Williams is survived by his wife and three children
