The cast for “True Detective” season 2 continues to grow with two more actors being added to the upcoming season set to debut on HBO in 2015…
The main players for HBO’s “True Detective” season 2 are finally in place and now it’s time to start adding the other pieces to the puzzle.
The latest casting news includes a “True Blood” actor landing a recurring role as well as a veteran actress known for roles in films such as “Gods and Monsters” joining the show.
James Fain — who played Franklin Mott on HBO’s “True Blood” as well as guest starring appearances in shows like “24” and “Sleepy Hollow” — joins the cast of “True Detective” season 2 in a recurring role. Fain will play Jeff Hunt, described as “a ruthless police lieutenant”.
The other person added to the cast on Friday is Lolita Davidovich, who has dozens of guest starring roles on her resume with parts on shows such as “NCIS”, “Psych” and “Criminal Minds”. She also recently landed a part in the upcoming FOX series “Backstrom” starring Rainn Wilson.
In “True Detective” season 2, Davidovich will play Nancy Simpson, mother to Taylor Kitsch’s character, who is a lead cop on the series. Davidovich’s character is said to be a chain smoking, former Showgirl who desperately seeks the attention she once had from dozens of adorning men.
Colin Farrell, Kitsch and Vince Vaughn lead the cast of “True Detective” season 2, which is expected to pick up production shortly with a summer 2015 debut date on HBO.
