Krysten Ritter has landed the lead role in Marvel’s second straight to Netflix series titled ‘AKA Jessica Jones’ set to debut in 2015…
Marvel continues to crank out the hits with new films and a growing television division, which just cast another star for an upcoming series headed to Netflix.
‘A.K.A. Jessica Jones’, based on the comic book series ‘Alias’ written by Brian Michael Bendis with art by Michael Gaydos, will debut in 2015 following the debut of Daredevil and now the show has a star.
Krysten Ritter — best known for her roles in television shows like ‘Breaking Bad’ as well as films such as ‘She’s Out of My League’ — has landed the lead role in Marvel’s ‘AKA Jessica Jones’ series.
“Krysten brings both the hard edge and the vulnerability the role demands,” said Executive Producer/Showrunner Melissa Rosenberg. “We can’t wait for fans to see her in action, coming to Netflix in 2015.”
The show is based around Jessica Jones and the detective agency she starts after a tragic end forced her out of the superhero business. Her new role as detective ends up right back where she started, however, as Jones ends up investigating several cases revolving around people with extraordinary abilities.
The new series from Marvel will debut in 2015 following the start of the Daredevil series currently filming in New York starring Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio.
