Sony has found another new franchise to invest in after signing a deal with Valiant Comics to bring two of their most iconic characters to life on the big screen….
Sony has signed a five picture deal with Valiant Comics to bring characters Bloodshot and Harbinger to the big screen with plans for the final movie being staged as an event where the two entities collide.
The first film in the series — Bloodshot — will debut in 2017 with ‘John Wick’ directors David Leitch & Chad Stahelski in charge of the project with a script from Jeff Wadlow (Kick Ass 2).
Bloodshot is a character brought back from the dead and infused with cutting-edge nanotechnology by private security contractor Project Rising Spirit, Bloodshot is a nearly unstoppable killing machine equipped with enhanced strength, speed, endurance, and healing.
Meanwhile, Harbinger will be written by Eric Heisserer (Story of Your Life) with no director attached to the project as of yet.
Harbinger tells the story of Peter Stanchek, a telekinetic teenage runaway and his recruitment into the mysterious Harbinger Foundation by secretive CEO and philanthropist Toyo Harada.
Both Bloodshot and Harbinger will get initial films along with sequels before colliding in the final installment of the series — ‘The Harbinger Wars’ — based on the event series of the same name from Valiant Comics in 2013.
‘Bloodshot’ will be the first film released from Sony with an expected date in 2017.
