Marvel announced the expected cast list for ‘Captain America: Civil War’ and they are pulling out all the stops for this film…
As ‘Captain America: Civil War’ begins production this month under the guidance of directors Anthony and Joe Russo, Marvel has announced a massive cast list expected to appear in this movie.
The plot is similar to the original ‘Civil War’ storyline from the comic books:
“After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.”
Now here’s where things get interesting. While this is being touted as ‘Captain America 3’, this is really more or less another Avengers film when you start looking at the people appearing in this thing. Check out the list of who will be appearing in ‘Captain America: Civil War’:
Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America
Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man
Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow
Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier
Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Falcon
Paul Bettany as The Vision
Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye
Don Cheadle as Jim Rhodes/War Machine and
Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch
And now for all the new additions to the film:
Paul Rudd will make his first appearance alongside the Avengers as Scott Lang/Ant-Man
Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa/Black Panther,
Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter/Agent 13,
Daniel Brühl as Baron Zemo
Frank Grillo as Brock Rumlow/Crossbones,
William Hurt as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross
Martin Freeman in an undisclosed role.
And that’s not all. A new Spider-Man will also make his first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for ‘Captain America: Civil War’ but as of now the role hasn’t be cast just yet. With filming starting this month, expect news on who will be playing Spider-Man to be announced in the coming weeks.
There have also been rumors that Clark Gregg may return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Agent Phil Coulsen but at this point there’s no confirmation that he will appear.
The only two major Marvel characters not slated to appear in this film are Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk and Chris Hemsworth as Thor.
This is going to be a rather huge movie for Marvel and with this cast list how can it not be?!?
“Captain America: Civil War” opens in theaters on May 6, 2016.
