So the updated ‘Jem and the Holograms’ movie that’s ‘based’ on the classic 1980’s cartoon actually doesn’t resemble it whatsoever…
So the first trailer for ‘Jem and the Holograms’ was released this week and let’s just be honest.
It looks awful.
All of the fun and adventure that was packed into an action cartoon series geared towards girls has been pulverized and reborn as a coming of age story about a teenager who is reluctantly drawn into the spotlight and then becomes a superstar while accidentally leaving her friends behind.
If that doesn’t sound at all like what ‘Jem and the Holograms’ was about, you’d be 100-percent correct. This will be the last story we post about ‘Jem and the Holograms’ because frankly this is no longer even remotely the same concept as the original cartoon series.
To each their own and if a new generation loves this movie, more power to you. But the cartoon was better.
