A key comic character from ‘The Walking Dead’ has been added for season 6 as ‘Straight Outta Compton’ star Corey Hawkins joins the show…
Corey Hawkins — best known for his portrayal of Dr. Dre in the upcoming biopic ‘Straight Outta Compton’ — has been picked up for ‘The Walking Dead’ season 6 to portray a key character from the comic book series.
Hawkins will play Heath — a supply runner and key component in the Alexandria Safe Zone where Rick and the survivors are currently living. In the comic books, Heath teams up with Glenn to lead supply runs outside the walls of Alexandria although it’s unclear if the character will be portrayed the same in the show.
Hawkins is the first major addition to ‘The Walking Dead’ season 6 cast with filming already underway in Georgia where he is currently shooting scenes for his character.
‘The Walking Dead’ returns this October on AMC.
