Jon Bernthal has officially joined the cast of ‘Daredevil’ season 2 playing Frank Castle aka The Punisher….
Jon Bernthal — best known for his roles in ‘The Walking Dead’ as well as ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ – has officially been cast as Frank Castle aka The Punisher for ‘Daredevil’ season 2.
Marvel made the announcement on Tuesday.
The Punisher will join the show as a vigilante determined to clean up Hell’s Kitchen by any means necessary, no matter how lethal the results and that puts him in direct opposition of Daredevil (played by Charlie Cox).
“Jon Bernthal brings an unmatched intensity to every role he takes on, with a potent blend of power, motivation and vulnerability that will connect with audiences,” said Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television. “Castle’s appearance will bring dramatic changes to the world of Matt Murdock and nothing will be the same.”
‘Daredevil’ season 2 gets into production this summer with a 2016 debut date on Netflix.
