Some casting news for ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ season 3 as Constance Zimmer joins the cast and Blair Underwood is set to return….
Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ season 3 will officially return on ABC on Tuesday night, September 29 at 9pm and a new character has been added to go up against Agent Phil Coulson while Melinda May will see her ex-husband stick around a little while longer.
First up is Constance Zimmer — best known for her roles on ‘Entourage’ and ‘House of Cards’ — and she will play the head of a mysterious new government agency tasked with investigating the Inhumans and she’s expected to toe-to-toe with Phil Coulson starting in the season 3 premiere in September.
Zimmer is set for recurring status for season 3 and she will be the main antagonist for quite some time as she gives Coulson more than a few headaches this year.
Also ahead of ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’, Blair Underwood has officially signed on to return as Dr. Andrew Garner with a recurring role in season 3.
Underwood first appeared during season 2 playing Agent Melinda May’s estranged husband while also serving as a psychological asset to the team several times. There’s no word on what Garner will be up to during season 3, but he’s expected to pop up during several episodes so get ready to see a lot more of him this year!
‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ season 3 debuts on Sept. 29 at 9pm ET.
