Quentin Tarantino confirms that Uma Thurman really wants to do ‘Kill Bill 3’ and it’s still possible a trilogy could happen….

Quentin Tarantino is currently preparing for the release of his latest movie ‘The Hateful Eight’, which lands in theaters on Christmas Day and while his passion has turned to the Western genre lately, the prolific writer/director still gets questions about sequalizing another of his most famous works.
‘Kill Bill’ was a project Tarantino worked on for years while creating an entire film around his ‘muse’ Uma Thurman and what resulted was a two-part classic mixing the writer’s sharp tongue for dialogue and a bloody good martial arts movie.
‘Kill Bill 2’ was released more than a decade ago, but Tarantino still gets questions about a third film in the series whenever he makes public appearances.
As it turns out, fans aren’t the only ones who want another ‘Kill Bill’ film.
It seems Thurman is also on board and would definitely like to reprise her role as ‘The Bride’ in another ‘Kill Bill’ film if Tarantino ever decides he wants to write and direct the project.
“We’ll see. Never say never. We’ll see when it comes to ‘Kill Bill 3’,” Tarantino said at San Diego Comic Con this past July. “Uma (Thurman) would really like to do it, we talk about it every once in a while.”
Tarantino has teased making another ‘Kill Bill’ movie when the timing was feasible to create a new storyline around The Bride killing her old comrade Vernita Green (played by Vivica A. Fox in the original) in front of her daughter while telling the little girl that one day she’ll seek bloody revenge as well.
Tarantino hasn’t forgotten that particular plotline but jokes that Vernita’s daughter isn’t quite aged enough to get into a sword fight with The Bride.
“We’ve got to wait for Vernita’s daughter to get old enough to kill her so we’ll see,” Tarantino said with a laugh.
Tarantino has also stated in the past that there is still a possibility of an ultimate ‘Kill Bill’ set being released on DVD and blu-ray that would combine the two films into one as he originally envisioned.
For now, Tarantino is going to keep his focus on ‘The Hateful Eight’ but given his adoration of Thurman and her desire to do another ‘Kill Bill’ movie, anything is possible.
