Lily Rabe will guest star as a famous serial killer on the upcoming season of ‘American Horror Story: Hotel’…
Lily Rabe will return for ‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ this season in a pivotal role surrounding the always highly anticipated Halloween episodes and the character she’s portraying will look familiar.
‘American Horror Story’ creator Ryan Murphy revealed the news on Tuesday while stating that Rabe’s role is central to the big Halloween story arc kicking off in October on FX.
“Our Halloween episode this year is called ‘Devil’s Night’. I’m directing it. Lily Rabe is coming to that episode, and she’s playing Aileen Wuornos, which is really bizarre,” Murphy said. “She’s at the centerpiece of that Halloween episode, and that’s who she’s playing.”
Aileen Wuornos was a convicted serial killer who murdered seven men between 1989 and 1990 in Florida before being captured and sentenced to death for the crimes.
Wuornos was famously portrayed by Charlize Theron in the 2003 film ‘Monster’, which earned the actress an Academy Award for best actress.
Rabe will appear in at least a couple of episodes during her guest spot on ‘American Horror Story: Hotel’, which debuts on FX on Wednesday night October 7 at 10pm ET.
