Famed astrophysicist and creator of ‘Cosmos’ Carl Sagan has a biopic in the works at Warner Bros. with his wife on board as a producer…
Carl Sagan’s legacy continues to live on through dozens of scientists who still quote his work to this day not to mention the recent success of Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey that was originally created by the astrophysicist before the series was rebooted with Neil DeGrasse Tyson hosting.
Well, Sagan’s life story will now be told in a feature film being developed at Warner Bros.
Lynda Obst and Ann Druyan are on board to produce the movie about Sagan’s life with a script written by Zach Dean (Deadfall).
Druyan was Sagan’s wife before his untimely passing in 1996 at the age of 62. She was also a producer on the movie Contact, which was based on one of Sagan’s books. She also won an Emmy for her writing on Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey as well.
Sagan hosted the original series Cosmos: A Personal Journey, wrote several books, and won the Pulitzer Prize in 1978. He’s also well known for his skepticism about organized religion and he’s attributed for the famous quote — “Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.”
No director has been attached to the movie as of yet, but once a script is completed look for this project to get moving in the near future.
