Mr. Robot may be one of the best new shows of all 2015 and I was late to the party.
I’m ashamed to admit that for all the hype I heard about this series after South by Southwest, I still didn’t check it out when the show debuted earlier this summer. Maybe it was the idea that no show could possibly live up to the hype where so many critics gave it rave reviews. Maybe it was the fact that last time I gave a show on USA a chance (Dig) it turned out to be less than spectacular.
For whatever reason, I didn’t start Mr. Robot until the show was already on air for about three episodes and while I quickly caught up and obsessed over the remainder of the season, I still can’t take credit that I was there before the party started. When Mr. Robot returns for season 2 in 2016, I will certainly be doing recaps every week because this is that special mind fuck type of a show where it takes a little while absorbing everything before you can truly understand it.
Until then, I’m left to lament about how I didn’t have the foresight to see that Mr. Robot was going to become my favorite show for the summer of 2015 but I can still try to make up for it now that all of us are forced to wait another year to see another episode.
So to help stave off the Mr. Robot withdrawal we are all bound to face in the upcoming winter months, I leave you with the ultimate soundtrack from the show including the full list of tracks played on the series as well as a few of my favorite songs that really stood out during the 10 episode freshman season.
