The 2015 Emmy Awards are wrapped up and Game of Thrones was the big winner for Best Drama while HBO ruled the night…
Following several nominations, Game of Thrones finally won for Best Drama at the 2015 Emmy Awards, wrapping up a huge night for the fantasy series as well as their network, HBO.
Game of Thrones went up against some very stiff competition this year including Mad Men, which wrapped up its run this year on AMC. Still, Game of Thrones was applauded for some of the best story telling and acting through five seasons on the air and the series was rewarded with the Best Drama award for the first time.
As expected, Jon Hamm finally walked out with an Emmy for Best Actor for his role on Mad Men, but in a minor upset Peter Dinklage edged out Jonathan Banks for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Tyrion Lannister on Game of Thrones.
HBO was by far the biggest winner of the night with wins in both the Best Drama and Best Comedic Series categories as Veep won a slew of awards including Best Actress for Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
