It looks like ABC will be sticking with only one Marvel TV series moving forward with Agent Carter cancelled and Marvel’s Most Wanted no longer in development….
It’s a bad day for Marvel properties at ABC.
This week the network cancelled Agent Carter after two seasons on air.
The series followed Agent Peggy Carter, a character who originated in Captain America: The First Avenger, following the disappearance and supposed death of Steve Rogers during World War II. The show starred Hayley Atwell in the lead role and was a hit with critics, but never quite gained much steam in terms of audience.
The good news for Atwell — her next starring series titled Conviction has already been picked up to series on ABC.
As for Marvel’s Most Wanted — the series was supposed to be a spinoff of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. starring Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood as two outcast agents — Bobbi Morse and Lance Hunter — on the run who are forced to work with a man named Dominic Fortune, who agrees to help and protect the fugitive couple so long as the complete dangerous tasks for him around the world.
Marvel’s Most Wanted had already picked up several actors to star in the series including Delroy Lindo, but it appears the project is now officially dead in the water.
There’s been no word yet if Blood and/or Palicki could return to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. now that they are no longer taking over their own show on ABC.
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has already been renewed for season 4 on ABC.
