‘Agent Carter’ will return for a second season on ABC but Hayley Atwell might be the only really familiar face you’ll recognize…
The first details for the second season of ‘Agent Carter’ as well as the third season of ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ were released on Tuesday via Marvel with some interesting pieces of information being revealed.
First and foremost, ‘Agent Carter’ will return with Hayley Atwell in the lead role as Agent Peggy Carter and this season she’s tasked with a new mission that takes her to Hollywood, Calif. for the first time.
The first season of the show took place in New York City so she’ll be traveling cross country this time around.
As of now, no co-stars have been announced to join Atwell on the series and the teaser proclaims new characters and places will be highlighted in season 2, which means many of the previous cast members from the show may not return.
“Marvel’s Agent Carter” returns for a second season of adventure and intrigue, starring Hayley Atwell in the titular role of the unstoppable secret agent for the SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve). Dedicated to the fight against new atomic age threats in the wake of World War II, Peggy must now journey from New York City to Los Angeles for her most dangerous assignment yet. But even as she discovers new friends, a new home–and perhaps even a new love–she’s about to find out that the bright lights of the post-war Hollywood mask a more sinister threat to everyone she is sworn to protect.”
As for ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ the show will wrap up season 2 with a special two-hour finale on Tuesday night with plans already in place for the new story in season 3.
“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” returns for a dynamic, action-packed third season, as Director Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) embarks on a deadly new secret mission to protect the world from new threats in the wake of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s wars with Hydra and a rogue faction of Inhumans.”
There should be a clearer sense of what’s about to happen on ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ once tonight’s finale airs and we get a sense of the direction Coulson and his team will be headed.
‘Agent Carter’ and ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ will return to ABC later this year.
