A Battlestar Galactica general is joining Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. after Marvel announced on Thursday that Edward James Olmos will be appearing in season 2 of the show….
Edward James Olmos — best known for his role as William Adama on ‘Battlestar Galactica’ as well as guest spots on shows such as ‘Dexter’ — will fill a major role in the second half of season 2 of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
According to Marvel, Olmos will play Robert Gonzales, a character who will have ‘massive repurcussions’ for Director Phil Coulson and his team of operatives.
There’s no word on how many episodes Olmos will appear in but he will debut in the second half of the seaosn when the show returns in March following the seven week run of Marvel’s ‘Agent Carter’.
“Edward James Olmos brings an amazing gravitas to any role he inhabits, something we knew we needed for Robert Gonzales,” said Executive Producer and Marvel’s Head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb. “When Olmos first appears on our series, everyone will have to take notice–including our favorite Agents.”
Look for Olmos to pop up on screen sometime shortly after ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ returns on March 3 at 9pm ET.
