Marvel will have at least two shows on ABC for 2015 and 2016 after both ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ and ‘Agent Carter’ were renewed on Thursday….
‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ will get a third season at ABC after the network officially renewed the Marvel series on Thursday.
The show was spearheaded by ‘Avengers’ director Joss Whedon and while the freshman campaign endured more than a few ups and downs, season two has been consistently great TV with solid ratings across the board.
Joining ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ on ABC will be ‘Agent Carter’, which was renewed for a second season on Thursday as well.
The show starring Hayley Atwell that takes place just after the close of World War II was met with critical praise during its first season but there weren’t a lot of indications on whether or not the series would return for a second year.
Now it’s been confirmed that ‘Agent Carter’ lives again on ABC.
While it was good news for ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ and ‘Agent Carter’, there was some sad news shared on Thursday courtesy of Deadline — the ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ spinoff series that was being developed with Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood starring has been shelved and is no longer in development.
Oh well — two out of three ain’t bad!
Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ will wrap up season 2 next Tuesday night with a special two-hour season finale.
