An up and down freshman season won’t deter Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD from returning for a season 2, while the new series Marvel’s Agent Carter also found a home on ABC this fall…
Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD has been an hit and miss series during it’s first year, but the last few weeks have really turned things around for the show after tying into ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’. A strong finish and solid ratings all year have earned Agents of SHIELD a second season with ABC.
The show will wrap up season on next Tuesday night with the season 1 finale. Season 2 of Agents of SHIELD will then debut in fall 2014.
As for the new series, ABC has officially ordered the series ‘Agent Carter’ based on the character seen in the original ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’. Played by Hayley Atwell, the series will focus on Agent Carter as she helps to form SHIELD while traveling all over the world to fight evil in the 1940’s just after losing the love of her life when Captain America was frozen solid while battling the Red Skull.
There’s no word on what night Agent Carter will debut, but given the strength of Agents of SHIELD, having the two of them back to back in an all Marvel night on TV seems like a pretty solid idea.
