The secret is out on the identity behind the new director on Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’….
The new director behind Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ debuted last week — played by Jason O’Mara — but not much was revealed about the character, including his name.
Now the secret is out because the new director behind S.H.I.E.L.D. is Jeffrey Mace — better known to comic book fans as “The Patriot”.
In the comics, Jeffrey Mace is a reporter at the Daily Bugle who takes up the moniker as the Patriot after being inspired by the exploits of Steve Rogers aka Captain America. The Patriot would eventually form the Liberty Legion as he continued to fight crime after World War II came to an end.
In the TV version of the character, Mace is just as patriotic but he’s also an Inhuman, which explains the super human strength he showed off in last week’s episode.
The new director behind S.H.I.E.L.D. will be popping up throughout the season as he leads the team after taking over for Phil Coulson.
Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ airs Tuesday nights at 10pm ET on ABC.
