Amber Heard — best known for her roles in Magic Mike XXL, Pineapple Express and Zombieland — is in early talks to join the cast of Aquaman opposite Jason Momoa as the female lead in the film.
If Heard reaches a deal she’s expected to play Mera, a queen of Atlantis and Aquaman’s wife in the comic book series.
The expectation for Heard if she signs onto the film is to have her debut in the Justice League movie that will be out on November 17, 2017 before starring in the Aquaman movie due out on July 27, 2018.
James Wan (Saw franchise, The Conjuring 2) is on board to direct the movie with two separate scripts currently being developed for the film. The final script will be chosen at a later date.
