‘American Horror Story’ creator Ryan Murphy promised more crossovers were coming from past seasons of his popular anthology series and a major one will be happening during ‘Roanoke’.
According to Murphy, Sarah Paulson will play her third character in ‘American Horror Story: Roanoke’ when her heroine from season two — ‘American Horror Story: Asylum’ — makes an appearance on ‘Roanoke’ in an upcoming episode.

For those who don’t remember as far back as ‘American Horror Story: Asylum’ — Lana Winters was the main protagonist that season as a journalist, who is investigating what’s happening behind the scenes at Briarcliff Manor, an insane asylum where shady practices have been taking place. Sadly, Lana ends up being committed to the hospital before she’s later released under the care of Dr. Oliver Thredson, who ultimately turned out to be the murderous madman known as ‘Bloody Face’.
After sneaking Lana out of the facility, Thredson kidnapped, raped and tortured her at his house before she finally escaped his clutches and later killed him after sending his taped confession about the crimes to the police. Lana ended up giving birth to Thredson’s child, which she gave up for adoption until he returned while adopting his father’s moniker as Bloody Face. Eventually, Lana turned the tables on him as well before killing her own son after he attempted to murder her.
Lana ultimately became a famous author and journalist as a result of her horrific stay at Briarcliff and her altercation with Bloody Face but how she will play back into ‘American Horror Story: Roanoke’ is still a mystery. Perhaps Lana Winters will come to investigate the case after all the bodies start piling up again?
‘American Horror Story: Roanoke’ returns on Wednesday night at 10pm ET on FX.
