Ryan Murphy divulged a lot of secrets about ‘American Horror Story’ season 6 as well as what is coming in the future…
The sixth episode of ‘American Horror Story: Roanoke’ that debuts on Wednesday night at 10pm ET on FX will feature a huge twist that changes the show dramatically from what’s been happening thus far this season.
The first five episodes showcased a “true life re-telling” of a horrible series of hauntings that befell Matt and Shelby Miller after they bought a house in a secluded section of North Carolina. The last episode ended with the Miller family getting away and the conclusion of their on camera tale about this terrifying incident.
Now as episode six picks up, ‘American Horror Story’ will shift gears with many of the actors on the show including Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson and Cuba Gooding Jr. playing completely different characters from the ones they have been portraying up to this point in season six.
“The season was sort of written as if the season was two different shows,” ‘American Horror Story’ creator Ryan Murphy explained on Tuesday. “Something happens where half the cast is revealed to be playing and doing something absolutely different than you’ve seen in the first five.
“There’s a startling announcement at the end of act 3 that resets the rest of the season up until episode 10.”
Speculation has been that Cheyenne Jackson’s character will be the director behind the real life documentary telling the story behind “My Roanoke Nightmare” and that he will revisit the infamous haunted house from the first five episodes. Considering that everything we’ve seen thus far — including the portrayal of characters like ‘The Butcher’ — have all been fictional accounts of the real events that unfolded. Perhaps we’ll now get to meet the real Butcher?
The new episode on Wednesday night will reveal the twist so stay tuned for that.
In other ‘American Horror Story’ news, Murphy revealed a ton of secrets about season six ‘Roanoke’ as well as a lot of what’s going to be coming for season seven and beyond.
— Murphy confirmed that Lady Gaga’s character this season, whose name is Scathach, is the first ever Supreme. That ties Gaga’s character to ‘American Horror Story: Coven’ back in season three as the first ever queen of the witches.
— It seems ‘American Horror Story’ will revisit ‘Coven’ at some point in the future with an appearance expected from Gaga’s character whenever that happens as well.
— Finn Wittrock will appear in ‘American Horror Story: Roanoke’ this season as his “most fucked up character of all time” according to Murphy.
— Taissa Farmiga, best known for her appearances in ‘American Horror Story’ seasons one and three, will also return for a new role this season. According to Murphy, he loves having her on the show but this was the first time since season three when he had a character written that was worthy of her appearance.
— ‘American Horror Story’ season 7 will not be shrouded in mystery like season 6 with the revelation of the theme coming in the spring of 2017. Murphy did reveal that season 7 will tie back into ‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ with several characters expected to appear with more back stories and mythology being revealed.
— ‘Roanoke’ will also carry forward with Murphy confirming that episode 10 might end this season but many of the characters will be expected to appear again in future seasons of ‘American Horror Story’.
